Yes! We will file any insurance plan for you. However, we are only in network with United Healthcare and Delta Dental Premier. Most insurance plans have out of network coverage and cover at the same percentage as an out of network provider!
For example if we charge $150 for a filling and it is covered at 80% your copay would be $30.
If in network we have agreed to accept your insurance’s fee for the filling, for example $130 instead of the $150 so your copay would be $26 instead of $30.
If out of network and your insurance allows $130 you would be responsible for the $26 copay as well as any difference between your insurance rate and our fee, so your copay would be $46.
We are not in network with any Virginia Medicaid plan and they do not cover services at any out of network provider. Some Medicare supplement plans DO have dental benefits that we are in network with.If you have a question about whether your insurance would cover your visit with us we would be happy to check with your insurance!

Insurance reimbursement rates are dictated entirely by the insurance plan and many have not increased AT ALL in the past 5-10 years. (Consider how much the price of groceries has changed in that time!)
We keep our fees at or below average fees for the area and some of the insurance reimbursement rates would require us to accept fees 30% or more less than our fees! In order to be able to do quality work we need to be able to take the time we need, and not try to pack more patients in to make up for those types of discounts so we choose to remain out of network and keep our fees at a fair rate so we can provide quality care over quantity!

Dental X-rays are an important aspect of diagnosing dental disease. While there are many times we can see cavities with the naked eye there are also many times that cavities aren’t visible in your mouth until they are already fairly large! X-rays allow us to spot problems when they are still small and easier to fix.
Also, with the advent of digital x-rays and newer technology the amount of radiation exposure is very minimal. A full mouth series of dental x-rays is equivalent to about 1/10 of a chest x-ray or about the same as a round-trip flight from New York to LA!

Payment or copays for services are due at the time of treatment. We do not currently accept CareCredit but we do accept cash, check, or all major credit cards. Any account over 90 days past due is subject to interest charges of 1.5% per month.

We work very hard to keep all of the appointments that are scheduled without moving them and to stay on time for your appointments. We do not double book or overbook appointments. If appointments are missed with less than 24 hour notice it doesn’t allow us the opportunity to fill that slot that was reserved for you. The $50 fee helps to cover overhead costs and allows us to keep our other fees as low as we can. We understand that things come up and we will often waive this fee if you simply give us a head’s up that you aren’t going to be able to make it!
-
Unfortunately we are not usually able to accommodate walk-in patients. We do reserve spots on our schedule for emergencies, but we give priority to patients of record! We do also offer an ASAP call list and if we get any cancellations we do our best to fill those slots with emergency patients.
-
We are able to accommodate same day treatment at times depending on the complexity of the work to be done. We do not offer same-day or in office milled crowns or bridges. Our doctors feel that while in office crown fabrication technology has come a long way, it still is not able to be as precise as a crown made with more sophisticated dental laboratory equipment.

We do! Creating a new smile using dentures or partials is something we thoroughly enjoy! Dr. Watson was even received an award in Prosthodontics (dentures and crowns) while in dental school! We made traditional dentures, partials, and implant retained dentures and partials. Our dentures are made over the course of several appointments allowing for multiple try-ins if needed to make sure you’ll love your new smile!
